What is a bedside crib?
A bedside crib (also called a co-sleeper or bassinet) is a baby crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your newborn to sleep safely next to you. This is a secure form of co-sleeping and doesn't increase your risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the new baby.
They have a side which can be adjusted so that you can reach your baby easily at night to comfort and feed them. This is particularly helpful for mothers who are recovering from a csection. Many of them are foldable or portable making them suitable to travel or as an interim solution for babies who aren't ready to move into a full-sized crib.
Choose a crib that has an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an extra-safe cover that will shield your baby from stains. You should also pick up some baby-safe add-ons like a blanket, teether and a cuddly toys.
If you're looking for a long-term alternative, some cribs are equipped with conversion kits that allow you to transform them into a cot or toddler bed when the time comes. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition easier. Some models have a removable portion at the top that can be converted into an infant bed. Some can be used in conjunction with an adult bed that is standard or a high-rise bed. This is a great option for families that intend to travel frequently or change between bedrooms in the evening. It is also important to consider the size of your bedroom to ensure that you can fit the crib in comfortably. Many cribs have a riser that can be used to create an incline for babies with reflux.

This Web page discovered that the CoZee was a comfortable and safe sleeping space for her infant. She was pleased that it didn't move like other models, which meant she wasn't woken up at night while trying to soothe her child during feedings. She also liked that the sides of the chair could be lowered so that she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to carry the child out to feed her at night.

The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet for infants designed to make parents feel closer to their infant while they sleep. It can be adjusted upwards and downwards and moved to three different positions for sliding to fit under the parent's bed or in the corner so the baby is always in reach. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to circulate through and gives you a quick glance at your little one. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large storage basket beneath.
As opposed to other bedside cribs Iora is a standout among other bedside cribs. Iora can be folded flat and comes with a carry-on bag which allows it to be taken wherever. Our mom testers were able to move it from room to room and felt that it was a suitable size for a bedside cot, not too big or too small. The large storage basket is ideal to store extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great choice for parents who want to sleep together, but don't wish to share their bed. Also, if one of the partners has mobility issues, such as back pain or arthritis. Our mom testers love the ease with which they can access their baby in the Iora, and that it has an option to tilt the bed upwards to help with gas.
Our mums also love the fact that it meets NICE guidelines which state that you should place the infant in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no toys, blankets pillows, etc.). The mattress is also a good firm and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are readily available. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
